VVM holds education seminar
Former Union Minister, Adv Ramakant Khalap stated that education is the power and instrument that can help build the characters in human being.
Speaking at national seminar on “Re-visioning Higher Education in Globalised World” organised by Vidya Vikas Mandal as part of its Ruby Jubilee celebrations, Khalap said that education has the potential to make real human being. “Education has the potential to mold youngsters and that it helps to build character. Education is power and scientists have dealt with it and real education moulds students as well as teachers”, he added.
In his address, Dr Arun Nigvekar, former UGC Chairman said that economy and education are interlinked to understand the acceptance and success of seamless education.
He further stated that knowledge is at core of all development efforts in advancing economic and social well being in all developed, developing emerging nation.
He focused on the 21st century development, knowledge based economy with creative ideas and new learning paradigm which will benefit the younger generation and the quality of seamless education.
Others who spoke on the occasion were Dr Shrikant Koundinya, vice-president, Universal Commodity Exchange, Mumbai, Dr Manguesh Korgaonkar, director general, National Institute of Construction Management & Research, Pune and Dr Satish Shetye, vice-chancelor, Goa Univesity.
The seminar was followed by the second session of the day, an entertainment program by students of VVM and curtains came down with a musical programme “Ayushyavar Bolu Kahi, for public by Dr Saleel Kulkarni & Sandeep Khare, from Pune. [H]
