Wanchoo releases Mishra’s book on safe living

Governor Bharat Vir Wanchoo Tuesday released a handbook titled, ‘Watch Out: A handbook for safe living’, written by DIG Dr O P Mishra at Raj Bhavan, Tuesday.
While congratulating Dr Mishra for the book, the Governor said that safety tips in the book are useful for people not only living in the metros but also small towns and villages.
He even took the opportunity to clear the misconception that the police are not intellectuals  taking example of DIG’s work. “We do have intellectually-oriented cops,” he said in the presence of senior police officers and Managing Director of  Niyogi Books Publisher, Bikash Niyogi.
Chief Secretary B Vijayan said that it is a well researched work with safety tips which are available in one single book. Director General of Police Kishan Kumar appreciated the work by Dr Mishra and said this book will be very helpful to the police as well as the general public. The book will be included in the community policing drive.
Author Dr Mishra said the book is an embodiment of various safety tips picked up during his career.
He also said that while police have the responsibility to prevent crime on the streets, individuals should play a crucial role to prevent what he called ‘closed door’ crimes.
More stress was given on preventing the increasing cyber crime, he said. [H]
