Wilred Leisure reach London trophy semis

A rock solid performance from Wilred Leisure made sure that they reached the semi-finals of the 7th London football trophy at Goa Velha grounds after scoring a fighting 2-1 win over Nuvem Sports Club, Tuesday.
Nuvem could have taken the lead, but Cedar Colaco’s 30-yard free-kick was brilliantly fisted away by Wilred goalkeeper Custodio for an abortive corner.
Milagres of Wilred Leisure, after cutting past Nuvem stopper Ivon with only keeper Dicicon to beat, ballooned over.
At the other end, goalkeeper Custodio of Wilred acrobatically saved Clinton’s shot from entering the nets. The rebound was however shot away by Nuvem’s Selfino. There was no score at the break.
After changing ends both the teams began with a flurry of attacks. Wilred Leisure were the first to score with Sertorio pushing the ball past Nuvem keeper Dicicon after being served on a platter by Milagres. Tony Dias consolidated the deed by heading a harmless centre off Peter over the Nuvem keeper.
The Nuvem boys regrouped and went on the offensive and reduced the margin through Selfino as his deflection of a Presley shot bit the Wilred keeper Custodio. Nuvem had a last opportunity to secure the precious equaliser as Myron had Wilred keeper Custodio brilliantly collecting his curling shot. [NT]
