A woman believed to be in her thirties was found murdered at an isolated spot in Cansaulim-Cuelim on Friday afternoon.
According to Verna police, the woman was strangulated to death with her dupatta and her partially nude body was found in the bushes.

While the identity of the deceased is yet to be ascertained, Mormugao DySP Laurence D’Souza said the woman had worn an orange pant and a black T-shirt, while a tattoo ‘VL’ was found on the right hand.
“The deceased is wheatish in complexion and had a nose ring on the left side of her nose,” DySP D’Souza said.
Verna police has flashed wireless messages to all police stations in the State to verify if any missing complaint had been filed in connection with the woman.
Concerned about the safety of women, D'Souza has requested women to avoid visiting isolated spots.
“During patrolling, we have frequently noticed young couples at the mount of Three Kings at Cansaulin. We had to advise them not to visit the place for their own safety,” said DySP D’Souza.
Verna Police sent the body for an autopsy at the Hospicio hospital at Margao and PI Rajesh Kumar is investigating the case. [H]
